Kia offers two engine options with the new Kia Forte; A 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder. The former is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and is only available in the lower trims. The 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder is available in the top-of-the-line GT trim and feels more energetic. It can come equipped with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Kia Forte also offers drivers three driving modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport. Normal mode is the default setting for the Kia Forte and provides a smooth, comfortable and efficient driving experience around West Nyack. Eco mode offers a more fuel-efficient experience, whereas the Sport mode comes geared towards a more performance-oriented driving experience.
The suspension on the sporty Kia Forte GT trim is extra firm. The car feels stable and rooted to the ground even when driving on roads that are in less-than-perfect condition. This makes it ideal for anyone who wants a car that can be pushed to its limits.
