Running on a 3.5-liter V6 engine, the Carnival delivers a lot of power. It can make 290 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque of torque, so it certainly feels quick and responsive. The engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
With its strength, the Carnival can tow up to 3,500 pounds, giving you some flexibility with what type of equipment you can take with you on your adventures. The independent multi-link rear suspension and the front MacPherson struts play an active role in keeping the ride nice and smooth. This vehicle can earn up to 26 mpg on the highway, and, if you'd like to enhance efficiency, you can also engage Eco mode.
The Carnival has a handsome appearance, and it's sure to make a positive first impression around West Nyack thanks to its modern LED lights and sleek design. Every trim comes standard with power sliding rear doors, which makes it easier to access the back of the cabin, and the available power tailgate can have a hands-free operation.
Depending on whether a Carnival has a bench seat or a pair of captain's chairs in its second row, it could have room to accommodate eight or seven passengers. Both of the rear rows can easily be folded down if you have larger items to take with you. With these seats folded down, the maximum cargo capacity becomes 145.1 cubic feet.
As you travel around Middletown, your passengers will be pleased to have multiple USB charging ports throughout the minivan. Voice recognition, Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are some of the standard elements in the infotainment package, and SiriusXM® and navigation are optional.
Kia has integrated advanced safety mechanisms into the Carnival. To start, it has automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and forward collision warning. This model can also warn you when you're inadvertently drifting out of a lane, when there's a vehicle in your blind spot, or when someone is crossing behind you when you're in reverse. On top of this, the Kia can correct your braking or steering, if necessary, so that you have a better chance of avoiding collisions on the streets of Kingston. It can even have a surround view monitor, a parking assistance feature and a blind-spot view monitor. All this can enhance your awareness of what's around you.
Five trim levels are offered. The LX is the entry-level version that feels pretty refined with its LED headlights, 8.0-inch touchscreen and an array of high-tech components. Plus, it has a remote start function that can be convenient. The LX Seat Package trim comes with seating for up to eight, in contrast to the standard seven seats found in the LX. Further, the LX Seat Package trim has synthetic leather upholstery and heated front seats.
At the EX level, a smart power tailgate, a wireless charging pad and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation become standard for Poughkeepsie shoppers. The SX takes it further with black accents and heated and ventilated front seats. The SX Prestige offers the most amenities, including dual sunroofs, a Bose® premium audio system and leather upholstery.
